Our philosophy is to promote a “self-managed” workforce.
Having the right person in the right job means the individual is naturally motivated to do the work because they enjoy it and it is fulfilling. Therefore, leadership must provide staff with consistent feedback on performance based on:
- clear expectations of what your desired outcomes are for the position
- how and when they should be accomplished
- how you will measure and pay the individual for their performance.
When the worker knows how their pay is going to be affected by their performance in specific areas, it sends a clear message about what and where they need to improve. Most employees want this information, and when they have it, coupled with an open-door policy where the individual can track their current performance at anytime during the year, they will be able to self-manage and adjust the level of performance as needed.
